Jeiber Ariza was part of the Army Construction and Maintenance Department in Táchira. He’s linked to a supposed rebellion against Nicolás Maduro, which according to the government was being organized through a group called Movimiento de Transición para la Dignidad del Pueblo.
On March 2, 2018, Jeiber was detained by officials of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim). They relate him to Miguel Rodríguez Torres, for some telephone conversations between Ariza and Torres.
A court martial accuses him of treason against the country, instigation of rebellion and against military decorum. He is incarcerated in the prison of La Pica.
