José Carlos was one of the Venezuelans who participated in the demonstrations in rejection of the results of the presidential elections of 2013, described as fraudulent by the Venezuelan opposition.
In the middle of the protests, officials arrested him. He’s accused, without evidence, of simple homicide and injuries, for allegedly being involved in the murder of one of the people who were on the site.
The court in charge of his case sentenced him to 14 years in the Penitentiary of Cumaná, Sucre state. He’s innocent.
