Melanye Alvarez is a young dancer who was arbitrarily detained since January 24, 2018. Melanye was at home when a commission of the Bolivarian Intelligence Service (Sebin) ambushed her without a warrant.
On January 26, 2018, she was presented before the courts and according to information from the Foro Penal’s lawyers, the judge ordered the headquarters of the Sebin in El Helicoide as a place of confinement.
On June 1, 2018, a measure of the National Constituent Assembly granted Melanye release with some restrictions. Before her release, she was forced to appear before the Truth Commission of the organization chaired by chavismo.
