Who we are

US

Acción por la Libertad is a citizen movement created in April 2014 to promote human rights, especially the right to freedom of expression, freedom of opinion and personal freedom, in order to contribute to the strengthening of a democratic society in Venezuela.

Its founders are the human rights activist Adriana López, the lawyer Zulmaire González and the artist Diana López, who come from working in the management of Chacao Culture.

Acción por la Libertad was born as a result of repression, arbitrary arrests, killings of demonstrators by state security agencies and serious violations of human rights, especially the right to freedom of expression and personal liberty, which took place in February of 2014 in Venezuela. The main purpose of this citizen movement is to disseminate and defend human rights through cultural and educational activities.

Gradually, collaborators and activists have been joining, including social communicators, artists, lawyers and students who have been carrying out actions for the freedom of Venezuela, convinced that the contribution they make contributes to the liberation of political prisoners and the strengthening of freedom of expression.
