Libérenlas is a campaign focused on demanding the release of political prisoners women in Venezuela, through actions that make it possible to make their cases visible, the violation of human rights of which they are victims and the mistreatment.

Venezuela is the country of the Americas with the most political prisoners and arbitrary arrests </ strong>. Since 2014, there has been a significant increase in the number of political prisoners and, consequently, in the number of women arbitrarily detained. The political prisoners of Venezuela are innocent of the crimes for which they are accused, because they didn’t commit it and because there’s no evidence to incriminate them. These women are arbitrarily detained because as Venezuelans they exercised their rights, expressing in some form and from different spaces, that they disagree with the regime </ strong>.

For this reason, on March 8, 2017, International Women’s Day </ strong>, Acción por la Libertad began the campaign #Liberenlas, with the aim of making visible each of the cases of women who are arbitrarily detained In Venezuela. This initiative represents not only the struggle for the rights of Venezuelan women, but also for the freedom of all political prisoners </ strong>.
