Yarxenys González is one of the victims of the Anti-Hate Law. On July 27, 2018, the teacher and lawyer was arrested along with her sister by officials of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin). Her brother, Carlos José, reported that the hooded and armed men entered with force and without search warrant to their home in the community of Guayabal, Guárico state.
Both women were accused, without proof, of being responsible for a series of publications on Facebook from a page called “La Escoba de Guayabal”, a site where alleged irregularities committed by regional authorities are published.
“They don’t have evidence to accuse them, but they simply say that it’s an order of the governor and they are the ones who rule, something totally outlawed. In addition, at the beginning, in the files of my sisters they put other names and after fixed it”, he said.
Although her sister was already released under the presentation regime, Yarxenys continues behind bars in the Calabozo Police, Guárico state. She faces crimes accusations included in the Anti-Hate Law.
